| The fort was constructed by General
Wayne’s forces between September 17 and October 22, 1794. It was located on the
junction of the St. Mary’s and St. Joseph rivers and held a commanding position on
the south side of the Maumee River. This fort was dismantled in 1804 and a larger fort was
