He frequently accompanied Col. Johnston on his visits to the tribes under his protection. Wolf’s son Henry Clay was named in honor of Henry Clay in Kentucky, and was educated at Upper Piqua, under the supervision of Col. Johnston, and paid for by area Quakers. He afterwards became a leading chief; moving to Kansas later, and living for many years.
